How Much Does ISO 27001 Certification Cost? (2026 Guide)

First, which “certification” do you mean?

There are two. Individual certification — you, the professional, getting certified as an ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer, Lead Auditor or Foundation holder. And organizational certification — your company's information security management system (ISMS) being certified to ISO/IEC 27001 by an external body. The costs are unrelated, so let's take them separately.

Individual training & certification costs

For an individual, the cost is essentially the accredited training course, with the exam included. As a guide: Foundation from ~US$315, and Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor from ~US$990. Organizational certification costs

Certifying a company is bigger and varies by size and maturity. Budget for three buckets: implementation (building the ISMS — internal time and/or consulting), training (upskilling the people who'll run it), and the external certification audit (paid to an accredited certification body, usually as a Stage 1 + Stage 2 audit, then annual surveillance).
